Description
The Rion VT-06 Viscotester offers a unique, objective and cost-effective method for directly measuring the viscosity of liquids, for quality control in the manufacturing process of industrial products such as petrochemicals, paints and adhesives, as well as food, for example dairy products.
The viscosity of many substances is of paramount importance, but the measurement typically requires indirect, complicated and/or expensive methods with large, fixed instruments. Viscosity measurements, of many different kinds, are possible with VT-06, for example gear oil used in construction machinery. VT-06 consists of a meter/display unit with a rotor connected to the underside. The measurement is simple to perform by immersing the rotor in the liquid.
The resistance to rotor movement caused by the viscosity (torque) is measured to obtain direct readings on the instrument.While the rotor is turning, the display shows a direct digital reading of the viscosity of the liquid in decippascal seconds (SI unit of viscosity).
